In certain cases you may need to provide legal documents of your test results to a government agency. These agencies require that the documentation be legally binding. A legally binding DNA test requires the following:
Samples are collected by a non-interested third party.
Family cannot collect
Friends cannot collect
ONLY people with no interest in the outcome of the results can legally collect DNA samples for legal tests.
The Genetics Company and iTest DNA require that all legal cases be collected by one of our AABB Certified collectors.
Identities are verified.
Adults must present government issued photo ID
Photographs of all parties are take at the time of collection
Informed Consent is required.
Patients authorize and agree testing for the stated relationships.
Patients provide authorization for results reporting.
Samples are processed under AABB Guidelines.
AABB, The American Association of Blood Banks, is the regulatory agency which ensures legal tests are processed correctly and Accurately.
AABB is strict! Legal DNA Labs are monitored and accredited by the AABB and other agencies.
Results are reported
Test reports are signed by Laboratory Personnel.
Results may only be reported to the parties present at the time of collection or their legal guardians.
